We salute the 60th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and India.

We all know the history of Chandannagar’s merger with India. It is necessary to correctly appraise the young generation of today of the story of Chandannagar’s freedom from the shackles of prolonged foreign rule. Chandannagar assumed the role of a guide in India’s struggle for independence. Chandannagar was the meeting ground of the votaries of freedom.

History of the freedom movement in Chandannagar forms an interesting study in modern Indian history as after the final exit of the British from the Indian Sub-Continent.

Rash Behari Bose (Bose of Nakamuraya) was one of the patriots devoted to the country who played crucial roles in the freedom movement of the country. The life of this firebrand priest in the holy rite of India’s revolution formed a bright chapter.
This born freedom fighter has remained neglected for ever in the history of India’s freedom
"The British wrote a Raolat Report : “Among the few handful of Bengal freedom fighters who made the British Government almost impossible in India, the name Rash Behari Basu topes the list.”

For centuries, India and Japan have engaged in cultural exchanges, primarily as a result of Buddhism which spread indirectly from India to China and then to Japan. Japan and Indian freedom fighters both fought against western colonialism. The Japanese Government extensively supported the Indian National Army and the Indian Independence League headed by Rash Behari Bose during India’s fight for independence. It is necessary to correctly appraise the young generation of today of the story of Japan’s support . Very few people are aware that Rash Behari Bose was instrumental in introducing an authentic Indian curry to the Japanese.

Why not Bose of Nakamuraya's romance story during this historic celebration ?
